I enjoy growing and cooking with fresh herbs. I try all of my recipes prior to posting them to ensure they are delicious...Mr. Fuzzy is my guinea pig. One of my future projects is to create a family cookbook for my children that includes our favorites. Sharing ideas, recipes, jokes and any kind of interesting information is why I'm here. Remember this is NOT a competition, this abo... http://fuzzysworld.multiply.com/journal/item/566/Picture_Perfect_-_Wet Fri, 5 Sep 2008 15:33:53 -0000 Labor Day Week-End Was everyone's Labor Day week-end as busy as mine?  We had a family barbecue yesterday so Saturday was spent shopping and Sunday was spent doing anything I could ahead of time so I could enjoy myself on Monday.  I made the potato salad, shucked the corn, made the marinade for the chicken, formed the burgers and put them in plastic and put the spice rub on the ribs.  The chicken and ribs marinated overnight and I marinated in a couple of glasses of wine at the end of the day. Those years in school when you just thought you HAD to have that one item of clothing that "everyone" was wearing? Or maybe, that everyone was wearing that you just couldn't understand why? Or some other thing going on that everyone was doing? Give us 5 fads or fashions from your school years! This is really going to date me.  My high school years spanned the late 50's and early 60's so here goes. 1.  Bouffant hair - Keep in mind that this was a time before hand held blow-dryers and so there was much more preparation involved. Styling usually began the night before and usually women slept with rollers in their hair. In fact, it appeared to me that the book was simply a character assassination of people in power positions. The only saving grace was that she did include two semi-intelligent characters, Andy Brazil, a Virginia state trooper, and Judith Hammer, Superintendent of the Virginia State Police. The mystery itself has really nothing to do with the Governor's ridiculous proclamation. The mystery is centered around a group of psychopathic murderers who perform random acts of violence and have kidnapped Popeye, a dog belonging to Superintendent Hammer who will do anything to get it back. Even more ridiculous than the human characters are the animals; dogs and fish who can think and communicate with each other. This book should be a pass if you prefer believable characters. However this weeks exercise will be very specific on where you get the "stuff". 1. Pick an item from your junk drawer, junk container....where ever you keep your extra "junk" that your not sure when or if you are going to need at some point in the future.I have a red plastic box shaped like a heart that at one time had chocolate candy in it.  I don't know why I keep it; there is no sentimental value, it isn't valuable or even that pretty but it sits in a drawer in my dresser anyway. 2.
