Blog EntryFriday 5 - Random PhotosJul 10, '08 2:29 PM
for everyone
This weeks Friday Five idea is brought to you by Grainne and is all about 5 Random Pictures.

Select 5 random photos that you've taken (you may add a description if you wish or just post the picture).

If you don't have photos saved to your computer, think of the first 5 random thoughts that pop into your head.  Then do an image search on the 5 thoughts, save the images, and post them up in your blog.

Add a link to your blog in the comments of this group post.

I just selected some of my favorites...they have no connection to each other, therefore they are "random".  Some I have used before so they may look familiar.

This is one cool puppy...she certainly knows how to relax on a hot Florida afternoon.

A hummingbird at our feeder.  It took a lot of shots to get this one but it was worth it.

This is loon in a lake on Hilton Head Island.  I played around with the editing and it ended up looking like a Monet painting.Hilton Head Island 012

This is ice on one of our bushes.  I used the color swap feature on my camera to come up with it.  It's a little creepy since it looks like frozen blood but I thought it was interesting.Red Ice

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE! thanks for sharing.
I was standing on my porch yesterday and a hummingbird came up to the flowers. It was weird because first of all they are skittish but it was inches away. And second of all the flowers just bloomed that should have bloomed around Easter time. So they are essentially Easter flowers with a hummingbird in them inches away. Would have loved to get a pic. Anyway, great pics and great blog.

Ahh a dog's life!
I never have the camera when I see a hummingbird and then they are gone in a flash so are hard to capture. That's an awesome picture.
BBKing? Were you at a concert?
Love the Monet effect with the loon. And loons are cool anyway.
Yeah the red ice is chilling in more ways than one.
Great photos all!

crk, if you are still enough hummingbirds will get close but as soon as they realize you are there they zip away. I was on the deck one day in a bright flower patterned shirt and one flew right up to me and just hovered there for a few seconds. I guess it thought I was a giant flower.

roo, yes we went to see B.B. King. He was awesome. He's 82 and his voice is as strong as ever. I read recently that he has 15 children with 15 different women.

I can't tell which is the best but the hujmmingbird draws me. I used to have a feeder at my deck at my old home. They are territoritorial and one was soooo possessive "Queen Nefertiti" Another one kept stealing whenever possible so my now ex called him" BOB."
They are a source of joy to me. All birds are but can no longer keep up with feeding them because of my MS. I content myself with watching the neighbor's feeder.

kitten, yes they really are very territorial and very aggressive when another hummingbird tries to drink at the same time. My feeders are hanging above my herb garden and when I'm tending it they will dive bomb my head to get me to move out of their way. It's amazing how loud they are for being so tiny.

Wow, that's an interesting ice picture! I love the hummingbird. We watch them in our garden. As fuzzyworld and kittenbritches say they can get territorial. We see one chase another one off all the time. That definitely is one cool puppy. Some good choices there.

What a great picture of the humming bird! My parents have a couple of feeders, but I still haven't managed to see one. The loon is really pretty too, but I think the last one is my favorite. Red is my favorite color. It have a real 3-D look to it.

Very cool! I love the dog in the pool. Mine doesn't come up to the edge, but my friend's pug loves to get in the water.
